Indications: Phlegm nodules and masses due to Phlegm accumulation and Qi stagnation, often associated with conditions such as lymph node swelling, goiter, or benign masses in the neck and body.
Signs & Symptoms: Palpable lumps or nodules (especially in the neck or lymphatic regions), firm or rubbery masses, possible swelling or enlargement of glands, mild tenderness or no pain, a sensation of obstruction, possible difficulty swallowing (in goiter cases), a greasy tongue coating, and a slippery or wiry pulse.
Actions of the Main Herbs: Xia Ku Cao (Prunella spike) clears Liver fire and dissipates nodules, particularly in the neck region.
