Yin Qiao Wan - Black Pearl Lonicera and Forsythia Formula pill 40g
Indications: Early-stage Wind-Heat invasion affecting the exterior, often associated with the onset of acute respiratory infections such as the common cold, flu-like illness, sore throat, fever, and mild inflammatory conditions of the upper respiratory tract.
Signs & Symptoms: Fever (often more prominent than chills), mild chills, sore throat, headache, thirst, cough, possible swollen tonsils or lymph nodes, possible body aches, red or slightly swollen throat, thin yellow tongue coating, and a floating, rapid pulse. Symptoms typically appear in the early stages of an external Wind-Heat pattern.
Actions of the Main Herbs: Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle flower) clears Heat and resolves toxicity, especially for throat and respiratory infections. Lian Qiao (Forsythia fruit) clears Heat and disperses nodules while supporting detoxification. Bo He (Mentha leaf) disperses Wind-Heat and relieves the throat. Niu Bang Zi (Arctium fruit) benefits the throat and relieves swelling. Jie Geng (Platycodon root) opens and disseminates Lung Qi, helping to relieve cough and guide herbs upward to the throat. Together, these herbs disperse Wind-Heat, clear Heat and toxins, and relieve sore throat and early respiratory symptoms.
Dosage & Course of Treatment: Take 8–12 pills, three times daily, preferably after meals or as directed by a practitioner. Typically used short-term at the onset of symptoms until resolution or transition to another formula if the pattern changes.
Ingredients:
– Lonicera japonica flower (金銀花, Jin Yin Hua)
– Forsythia suspensa fruit (連翹, Lian Qiao)
– Mentha haplocalyx leaf (薄荷, Bo He)
– Arctium lappa fruit (牛蒡子, Niu Bang Zi)
– Platycodon grandiflorus root (桔梗, Jie Geng)
(La composición puede variar ligeramente según el fabricante.)
Cautions & Contraindications: Not suitable for Wind-Cold conditions or chronic deficiency patterns without signs of Heat. Use with caution in individuals with Spleen deficiency or digestive weakness. Avoid prolonged use beyond the acute stage unless directed by a practitioner. Should not replace medical evaluation for persistent, worsening, or severe infections. Use under practitioner supervision.
Practitioner-only product: A consultation is recommended prior to use to ensure the formula is appropriate for the individual’s pattern diagnosis from Black Pearl.
