Tong Xie Yao Fang - Black Pearl Peony & Atraclylodses Combination pill 40g
Indications:
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with diarrhoea, gastritis, paediatric diarrhoea, malabsorption syndromes, and idiopathic diarrhoea.
Signs & Symptoms:
Cramping abdominal pain, diarrhoea, loose stools, abdominal bloating or distension, tenesmus, and mucus in the stool. Symptoms may be brought on or worsened by emotional stress. Fatigue and muscular weakness may also occur due to Spleen Qi deficiency. The tongue may appear normal or slightly purple, sometimes with a white coating, and the pulse may be wiry and moderate or wiry and thin.
Actions of the Main Herbs:
Bai Shao (White Peony root) nourishes Blood, softens the Liver, harmonises the Liver and Spleen, and alleviates abdominal pain and cramping.
Bai Zhu (Atractylodes rhizome) strengthens the Spleen, tonifies Spleen Qi, and dries Dampness.
Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia root) soothes the Liver, disperses constrained Qi, and supports the ascending movement of Spleen Qi to help alleviate diarrhoea.
Chen Pi (Citrus peel) regulates Qi, harmonises the Spleen and Stomach, and helps resolve Dampness.
