Indications:
Blood deficiency with related gynecological and systemic symptoms, often associated with insufficient nourishment of the body, especially in women.
Signs & Symptoms:
Pale or sallow complexion, dizziness, blurred vision, palpitations, dry skin, brittle nails, menstrual irregularities (scanty, delayed, or absent menstruation), light-colored or thin menstrual blood, lower back and limb weakness, fatigue, a pale tongue with a thin coating, and a thready or weak pulse.
Actions of the Main Herbs:
Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmannia root) strongly nourishes Blood and Kidney Essence, forming the foundation of the formula.
Dang Gui (Angelica sinensis root) nourishes and invigorates Blood, improving circulation and relieving deficiency-related symptoms.
Bai Shao (White peony root) nourishes Blood, preserves Yin, and helps regulate the Liver to relieve pain or cramping.
