Indications:
Constipation due to dryness and deficiency, especially associated with Blood or Yin deficiency leading to intestinal dryness.
Signs & Symptoms:
Chronic constipation, dry or hard stools, difficulty passing stools, infrequent bowel movements, dry mouth and throat, possible dizziness, fatigue, pale or dry complexion, a dry tongue (often pale or slightly red), and a thin or choppy pulse.
Actions of the Main Herbs:
Huo Ma Ren (Cannabis seed) moistens the intestines and unblocks the bowels, being a key herb for dryness-related constipation.
Dang Gui (Angelica sinensis) nourishes and invigorates the Blood, helping to moisten the intestines and support bowel movement.
