Indications:
Emotional stress, irritability, anxiety, mood swings, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), irregular menstruation, and symptoms associated with Liver Qi stagnation with heat signs.
Signs & Symptoms:
Irritability, frustration, mood swings, depression, anxiety, headaches (especially temporal or vertex), dizziness, dry mouth and throat, hot flashes, red eyes, menstrual irregularities, breast tenderness, premenstrual tension, insomnia with vivid dreams, constipation, a red tongue (especially with red edges) and a wiry or rapid pulse.
Actions of the Main Herbs:
Bupleurum root (Chai Hu) soothes Liver Qi stagnation and regulates the flow of Qi throughout the body, helping to relieve emotional tension and distension.
Angelica sinensis (Dang Gui) nourishes and moves the blood, supporting menstrual health and alleviating pain and dryness.
